FAQs

  • Q - What does the Loft Conversion tool do? A - Loft Converter calculates the number of Carpenters Mate screws needed to provide the equivalent strength to bolted construction when creating a timber joint in loft construction.
  • Q - What does the Multiple Member Spacing tool do? A - Multiple Member Spacing calculates the distances required between screws in multiple member timber constructions, when using Carpenters Mate screws instead of bolts.
  • Q - What's the advantage of using Carpenters Mate screws instead of traditional bolted methods? A - Carpenters Mate screws are self-drilling, ant-corrosive and proven to withstand tough conditions. That means they'll outlast the timber you're connecting, and they'll also save lots of time on every single construction job. When building lofts or loft conversions using nuts and bolts, you need to choose the correct drill bit, drill your holes, manually align and fit your bolts, tighten all the nuts and then clear up the mess left behind. Because Carpenters Mate screws are self-drilling and come with the right drive tool, you just line up the timber for your joint and drive the screws into place in one simple operation. Less mess, less fuss, less time, less hard work and all the strength you need.
